After purchasing my first “Coloured” - Millie - in the early 80‘s as a foal to act as a companion, I became totally smitten by the coloured horse and pony.

The 2016 Show season proved very successful for Tidkin Regal Moonstone (Gem). Honours included Supreme Champion at CHAPS Northern regional, Reserve Champion at the Great Yorkshire Show, Champion at North Yorkshire County Show, Champion at Hambleton Show and Champion of his youngstock section at the CHAPS Championship Show.
As a very small breeder I have had a 'type' in mind for breeding my dream coloured horse or pony and with much excitement, I may have achieved my goal. With one homebred mare I can enjoy the journey without too much pressure regarding the management that a commercial venture would have delivered. My female line, which is the heart of "Tidkin" is rather a vintage beginning from the early eighties. I purchased a grade 1 HIS skewbald mare named Potters Hill after admiring her at the Great Yorkshire Show. My attraction to her was her quality and hybrid vigour, out of a humble pony dam with an explosion of thoroughbred blood from her sire 'Bustiki'.
Some wonderful offspring was to be had including Tidkin Real McCoy who in her twighlight years has proven to be as consistent as her dam.
I have also been privileged to loan two special pony mares from friends and was blessed with a few small ponies to inject some fun into the world of Tidkin.
There are some people along the way that have inspired me and I would like to take the opportunity to thank them. Michelle Bradley from whom I made the best purchase 'ever ' with Potters Hill and Lucinda Simms with her multi talented, beautiful Harroway Mr Harlequin, being a huge influence in the joy of my equine family.
